I help companies learn and reduce uncertainties related to the development of products by doing User Research but also by basing most of my Design decisions on data, facts, and logic. I know I'm fulfilling my purpose when I create experiences with high functional, emotional and social value.
Currently Leading Product Discovery at Lacoste
I post about it
I’ve being living my passion for User Experience and challenging myself by creating content daily for the past 4 years on Linkedin.
I write my thoughts about it
Here are some of my latest articles :
I critique it
Here are few critique and suggestions I've made on existing products I use everyday:
I teach it
I coach and mentor people eager to get into the User Experience field or who are already in it and want some advice to direct their career, better their craft, get a raise, ... It’s a way for me to be the Mentor I wish I had when I started as a self-taught 7 years ago.
Here's what some of the people I've helped said about me
It is a real pleasure to work with Colbys. Whatever the subject he is working on, he remains benevolent and always focused on finding solutions and compromises in order to be able to move his subjects forward. Strong source of proposal, he is pro-active and always with a view to continuous improvement. He always remains attentive to his interlocutors. His dynamism and involvement make him a key part of our team. He knows how to overcome the difficulties that come his way and transform complex and critical situations into opportunities.
I had the opportunity to work with Colbys for over 3 years. Him as UX and me as UI. Always smiling, benevolent, and very educational, qualities that have made this collaboration a superb experience. Colbys has this ability to make things simple, no matter how complex the projects. Very precise and very attentive in his work, he leaves nothing to chance, knows how to take into account the constraints attached to the different roles of his coworkers and remains humble. I hope one day to be able to work with him again.
Colbys is a curious and thoughtful colleague. Very good teacher, he enlightened me several times on points specific to his expertise and I could notice that he was very attentive to complementary professions to his. In a very changing environment, he knows how to keep a cool head and consider a subject from several points of view to draw an actionable synthesis.
Mentor, "attentive and wise guide, experienced adviser", Larousse.fr. To this, I would add: benevolent, smiling, inspiring, always available and very humble to define the mentor that is Colbys. I had the chance to benefit from his support and I came out of it better. I recommend him with my eyes closed! 💯
Colbys is like a comet 💫... He flies at full speed, follows his trajectory without deviating, comes back to check on you regularly, and shines with each passage. He works quickly and well, often comes up with very good ideas, and instills good humor and respect in those who meet him. I had the honor of participating with him in "design challenges" workshops where we imagined solutions to known products. He animates, knows how to listen and transcribe all opinions. It was a pleasure to meet him. I have known few designers like him. I hope one day we can work together again.
Few people have the opportunity to work with someone ‘Ridiculously efficient’ like Colbys. I had the pleasure of working with him for two month on a big team project. No matter how tense a meeting, he made sure everyone left with a smile. As a team member or a leader, Colbys earns my highest recommendation.
Colbys is a driving force in a team. He has a natural leadership that allows him to federate around him and has this ability to build a benevolent environment in which everyone can find their place. I can only salute the quality of his work, his efficiency and his proactivity.
Colbys helped me with a short information architecture assignment. He identified my difficulties quickly and solved them even faster! And all this in a good mood. Thank you 🙏
I asked Colbys for help at a time when I was making an important professional decision to make my final transition as a Product Designer. Benevolent, available and pragmatic, I couldn't have hoped for a better mentor 😁
I'm improving the Discovery Experience of Lacoste's E-commerce products across multiple regions worldwide (EU, US, LATAM, APAC)
I helped reduce the risks related to the development of Accor's products by conducting research (prospective, validation, evaluation, ...) to better understand the behaviors, needs, and expectations of users.
I helped Viseo's clients improve their products by leading alignment workshops, and making improvement recommandations based on research (Benchmarks, Interviews, ...). Some of the deliverables I've produced : Audit, Personas, Experience Map, Wireframes.
